Discover the possibilities that this gift offers you

That all glasses are the same or that they serve the same purpose is not a great truth, in fact, it is like saying that all cars are the same: four wheels and a steering wheel ... it is to generalize to the maximum a matter that, if you go to study carefully, you see the opposite: each glass has a use and a reason. Depending on the drink you want to consume and if you want to savor and highlight flavors or smells, you need different glasses, with different capacities, shapes, heights, finishes ...

At www.everia.es we can discover a wide range of possibilities for glasses in general, accompanied by the best glass factories (later we will detail the difference between glass and crystal), unbreakable plastic glasses, wine glasses, gin and tonic glasses, engraved and personalized, and with different techniques and finishes. Always accompanied by major brands such as ARCOROC, LUMINARC, Chef & Sommelier, Akiplast, QUID ...

The importance of the material

Recovering common mistakes we hear many phrases such as:" These wine glasses are made of a beautiful crystal. "Let's take advantage of the sentence and return to the materials and the difference between glass and crystal. Based on Wikipedia: glass should not be confused with crystal , a crystalline and non-amorphous solid like glass. Glass is a hard, brittle, transparent and amorphous inorganic material found in nature, although it can also be produced by humans. Artificial glass is used to make windows, lenses, bottles and a wide variety of products. Glass is a type of amorphous ceramic material. Glass is obtained after baking raw materials at a temperature of about 1500 ° C and is composed of silica sand (SiO2), carbonate sodium (Na2CO3) and limestone (CaCO3). In most Spanish-speaking countries, the term crystal is frequently used as a synonym for glass, although strictly speaking it is incorrect because glass is an amorphous solid (its molecules are arranged in an irregular way) and not a crystalline solid. Furthermore, crystal is a perfect solid that contains lead oxide and we already know that regulations go towards removing lead from food contact products due to its toxicity. Among our partners, Arc Internacional, with its brands Luminarc, Arcoroc or Chef & Somerlier, is a leader in innovation and the search for new alternative materials to the use of lead in the compositions of its glasses: KWARX or the current Krysta are materials with great transparency , a spectacular shine and a great resistance both to blows and thermal shocks.

How is a stemware glass made?

Once glass and crystal have been differentiated, we are going to make a small point in how a glass is made. In most cases, except for artisanal mouth-blown glasses, wine glasses or personalized glasses that we can find in our bars or homes are manufactured in two parts: body and chalice, which are later joined by different techniques. Making a basic summary: the chalice is manufactured in a mold by means of a blowing process and in turn the stem of the glass is manufactured in another mold in In which the chosen foot model is pressed (normally proportional to the size of the calyx). Afterwards, the base and the calyx are joined by means of a process in which both parts are brought together, finishing these joints with high temperatures so that this process is practically not appreciated. The quality of the glass can be seen in how this part is finished: the less this joint is appreciated, the better the process and the better quality we can give to this glass. Schematic summary: • Chalice manufacturing: blown • Stem manufacturing: pressing • Joining: process of "gluing" with temperature • Other subsequent processes: Tempering, decorated ... • Packed: ready to serve the customer

We already know how a glass is made in a schematic way, but which glass do we have to choose for our promotions? What type of personalized glass is the best fit for our drink? What decoration technique is ideal for our brand? The answer is not clear since the solution is not unique. The trend in bars and restaurants is to use glasses for different uses of the classics, we can see bigger wine glasses to drink a gin tonic or traditional wine glasses to drink beer. We can also see spirits in glasses that are not cognac glasses to better appreciate the aromas ... in any case, if what we want is to find a glass for our promotion and we do not want to invest money in making an exclusive mold, we have great possibilities within Everia from our catalogs. Let's think about: • Capacity: from capacities for digestive liqueurs to large capacities of about 80 cl. • Height: if we are going to go to food service promotions, remember that they have to be washed in the dishwasher and that there are heights that will not fit. • Shape: Depending on taste, aesthetics or the drink to be used. • Stem: Fine, thick, with geometric shapes, high, low ... • Edge of the mouth: Cold cut (fine) or hot cut (less delicate, but cheaper) • Packaging: From the unit box to the industrial pallet. From here, let's try to make a good personalized glass with an original decoration applying different techniques: • Screen printing: It is the most used technique for personalized glasses. We decorate with the logo of our brand by going through several screens of the screen printing machine to receive the different colors and finish making the complete decoration. Then we go through the oven to vitrify this ink. Normally the decoration of the glass is in the chalice of the glass and the usual thing in personalized glasses is to use a not very striking color (acid simile or black). • Spraying: It is a process that gives the personalized glass a high perceived value and great originality. The base of the glass is sprayed giving color to this part and then the logo is printed on the chalice. It is a somewhat more complex process but it is worth it if we want to do something differential without investing in exclusive molds. • Laser: A common decoration option for small logos on the stem of the glasses. It is decorated with a logo in a discreet way so that the glass is personalized with our logo, but without highlighting it too much. After this little tour, we are ready to go looking for a perfect drink for our promotion. In addition to advising you in the best possible way at www.everia.com, we will help you to make your promotion a total success.
